Just because we’re women that doesnt mean that we have to overpack when we travel. If you read below, you will learn tricks so that will enable you to pack thoughtfully, having everything you need, without packing the kitchen sink.
Like all of these tips, the first guideline is simple: pick fabrics which are lightweight and styles which are not bulky. So, in general, skip the denim and leather, when it comes to fabrics. As for styles, choose simpler cuts of clothing, without ruffles or bellbottoms that will take up a lot of extra space in your suitcase(s).
You may think that travelling on a vacation means that you have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, just so you have enough things to pack. Think again. Chances are that you already have everything you need in your closet. The key is to pack strategically. Think versatility when it comes to how to make up outfits. For example, dont pick a pair of pants that only goes with one top. Choose a few neutral bottoms, say 3-4, and find in your closet 5-7 tops which go with each of the bottoms and give your look a splash of color. Think this wont give you enough to wear? You might be surprised to know that packing this way will yield you over two dozen different outfits.
The reason why some women overpack is that they overestimate what they need to wear to dinners. Unless you are required by formality, dont be afraid to go to dinner in a skirt and one of those versatile tops that I taught you about. And if you bring just one pair of nice looking shoes that match with all your skirts, your packing can be really light.
As you can see, this sort of packing will involve a little bit of thought and planning, but it can easily mean the difference between having a light load to lug around or bringing what you think is everything but not scrambling to put together an outfit while on your trip. You decide.
